Manta Ray was developed as part of one of the earliest NEOM commissions, exploring a new generation of residential villas along the Gulf of Aqaba.
The house stretches close to the ground, its roof unfolding in long, continuous surfaces that seem to hover above the desert. The geometry follows the movement of a manta ray through water: broad, quiet, almost weightless. Beneath it, the programme gathers around a sequence of circular rooms, courtyards and sheltered interiors, opening selectively toward the sea and the horizon.
The villa becomes a low artificial landscape at the edge of the Gulf — part shelter, part inhabited terrain — its long wings extending into the desert as if caught in the moment before flight.
